Starting in September, we have some great classes we are going to offer. We have 2 beginning quilt classes. There will be a fee for these 2 classes. You will learn basics on putting together a quilt from start to finish. These classes are 3 3 hour sessions.
We are also going to be offering FREE classes on using some specialty rulers that we have on hand to sell. There will be a pattern also available for purchase to complete projects using the different rulers. The classes will last between 1/2 hour to 3/4 hour depending on questions.
Classes for 2 hour time frames will also be available to get you started on one of the projects. A fee will apply.
Plus, we have a great idea for some Christmas ornaments to make painting your own fabric. The technique to show you how will be a FREE 1 hour long session. The supplies you need to make your own will be available for purchase.
Classes for this project will be 2 3 hour sessions and a fee will apply.
We also plan on starting two block of the month quilt projects. One will be for charity. The finished projects will be donated for a specific charity.
Ever wanted to make a round quilt, we have just the author who does a great job. We will be making the New York Beauty pattern using Cheryl Phillips book. Book will be available for purchase from us.
Want to put together an applique project. We have another great artist, Toni Whitney, whose patterns will be available from us. You will be able to choose which pattern you want to do and Tony will give instructions on this great technique. He used it in his "Never forget" quilt with the big eagle at the bottom of the quilt.

Quilt Market - What an experience!
Tony and I attended Spring Quilt Market here in Salt Lake City. We had such an experience getting to meet the authors of books, patterns and fabric designers. We came away with a whole bunch of class ideas for kids and adults.
I've gotten together the kids class descriptions and will be posting once I figure out how. Then, I'll be posting the class schedule shortly thereafter. We will be starting classes this month, June. The adult class list will be arriving shortly.
Also, as an added incentive to learn some basic, new and fun techniques, I'm going to offer the Summer Class Pass at $50.00. This entitles you to take up to 5 (two) hour sessions during the months of June, July, and August. These passes are numbered and assigned to a specific person. They are not transferrable, non-refundable and expire on 9/18/2011. BUT, if you use the pass during the summer months, you can save up to 50% in the cost of classes. An Example: My Beginning Quilt class is 3 (2) hour sessions. You already save $10.00 by getting the Summer Pass to take the class. This Summer Pass does not include any class kits, additional supplies, fabrics needed. If interested in purchasing a Summer Class Pass, send me an email so I can get your information and process your Summer Class Pass. I should also be connected to Pay Pal so you can pay thru Pay Pal also.

Tribute Quilts

The "Never Forget" quilt my husband originally made for the HMQS show will be in competition this May here in Salt Lake City, UT. It will be entered in the theme category of "It's a Holiday" as a tribute to Veteran's who have served, are serving and will serve our country as he did for over 25 years.
He also entered it in the Desert Quilters of Nevada Quilt show in Henderson, Nevada this last March. It took first place in the theme category of "25 Years of Memories"; Best Machine Quilting ribbon (with cash award), and the Viewer's Choice ribbon (with cash award). It was also noted in the judge's comments that this quilt was the "Best of Show" runner up. It was a very emotional quilt for a lot of people that viewed it. There is mixed techniques of traditional pieced blocks, machine applique, photo transfer, printing on fabric and a huge American flag that turned out bigger than anticipated. This quilt is 98" x 116": original pattern with an adaptation from a pattern Spirit by Big Foot Cotton Co for the eagle used. Most fabrics are batiks with some cottons. The batting is Legacy 80/20 cotton/poly blend; and the threads used are by Superior.
We will also post his "Peace" quilt shortly that also won awards and was another original design. This quilt is also for sale and has been appraised.
